History Of SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan

SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan is one of state Junior High School in Lamongan. it was established in 1979. The location of the school is very strategic. it is about 2 kilo metres from central of Lamongan city. Exacty at 3 Veteran Street Lamongan, the atmosphere of school environment is so quiet, green and clean, that it's comfortable for place of education.

in the academic year 2011/2012, total of students are 754. for more detail about classes in each grade, it can be explained as follow : grade VII consist of 8 RSBI Classes. Grade VIII consist of 8 RSBI Classes and grade IX consist 7 RSBI Classes.

year after year by supporting from all stakeholders, SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan develops to be the most favorite Junior High School in Lamongan regency. In it was certified as National Standard School and three year later, in 2009 it was certified as International Standard School Pilot. Because of caring about environment, SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan is become to National Adiwiyata School. Being led by Mr. JUMAIDI, S.Pd, M.Pd start June,2012. refering to school vision is oriented to achievement, culture, religion, environment, and global vision.

Many programs are done to achieve International Stadard School qualifications. For example, 8 standards of National Education are developed toward International Standard and many others. Establish to cooperate with Cluster School in Indonesia, for example SMP Negeri 1 Batu, SMP Negeri 1 Kedamaean - Gresik, SMP Negeri 1 Dlanggu - Mojokerto.

in this year will plan to carry out School to School Partnership Program (Sister School Program) wiht Junior High School at one of OECD Country (HENDERSON SCONDARY SCHOOL, Singapore) hopefully, by this program will enlarge and enhance SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan teachers and students insights and visions of the world relationship, improve the communication skills, inspire students of have the same competence adn excellence as those in OECD Countries.

the school schievements that have ever been achieved, among others in academic year 2008/2009, SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan was in the seventh rank in East Java Level, for the result of National Final Exams. Hopefully as a mean of education process SMP Negeri 2 Lamongan will be the best choice for community, because we have motto :
